Community Youth Programs

INTRODUCTION

Community Youth Programs (CYP) was established in 1970, incorporated as a non-profit community agency in 1973 and is a registered charity. Our core service is a residential program for youth. Our clients are youth and their families. We assist them to resolve their difficulties and, when necessary, offer residential care to the youth.

We strive to reintegrate the youth with their family using a realistic approach based on common sense, counseling and life skills training. We concentrate on family and peer relations, school performance, employment, self-awareness and behaviours that are productive.

If family re-integration is not possible, we prepare the youth for independent living or some viable alternative and we either arrange for support or provide it directly, as our resources permit.

VISION

CYP will assist the youth we serve to become contributors to the community to the fullest extent possible.

MISSION

To provide housing, support, structure and guidance for youth who are unable to live with a family and unprepared for independent living, and to provide ongoing support to clients in the community.
